Malala: Activist for Girls Education

feminist children's books

My daughter introduced me to Malala Yousefzai when she asked me to watch the movie He Named Me Malala with her. Wow, I was seriously impacted by that movie, especially by Malala’s father. It struck me how one man shaped the destiny of his child by simply thinking of his daughter as important not only to himself, but to the world. If you haven’t watched this movie I highly recommend that you do… cuddle up with your kids and prepare to be inspired! Then run out and buy the picture book, you won’t be disappointed.

The name Malala comes from a 19th century female Afghan freedom fighter; let’s just say Malala’s father knew what he was doing when he blessed her with that name. Malala won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.
